A Bit of Royal Dazzle

Liverpool is ready for a historic meeting. Cunard’s Three Queens are meeting on the River Mersey tomorrow to celebrate Cunard’s 175th Anniversary. Liverpool is the spiritual home, where in 1840 Cunard’s Britannia inaugurated the first-ever regularly-scheduled service across the Atlantic, from Liverpool to New York.

Tomorrow promises to be an amazing, once in a lifetime occasion when Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2 will rendevous and sail up the Mersey together.

Queen Mary 2 arrived in Liverpool this morning and here is my shot of her this afternoon, berthed and waiting for her sister ships tomorrow. In the foreground is the Liverpool ferry Snowdrop, in her WW2 Dazzle camouflage, designed by the famous UK Pop artist, Sir Peter Blake.
