A Wander in the Winter Sun

With my new hip now 5 weeks old, I have been gradually increasing the lengths of my walks on the new joint over the last week or so. So a nice excuse to wander along the River Mersey at New Brighton on the Wirral yesterday afternoon. A cold but beautiful, still and sunny day. As you…

Penguin Awareness Day 2017

Today 20th January is PENGUIN AWARENESS DAY 2017. A day to think about these amazing birds that live in some of the world’s most fragile environments. Here is a useful graphic showing 18 Penguin Species and their current Survival Status in our ever changing and warming world.

Winchester Wanderings

My next courses and workshops commence in March and April 2017 in Cheshire and Somerset. More details will follow on the website early next year.

Everyone is talking about the UK’s impressively colourful autumn. 2016 has been a good year for tree and leaf growth, giving us one of our best autumns, or for my American friends, a great Fall. General advice is to get out and about to visit the various woods and forests across England. Well this morning in…

Liverpool is the most beautiful of cities

Folk tend to take their local region, town or city for granted. I was taking a client around Liverpool on Monday for an afternoon’s photo tuition session. It was cold but dry and sunny, the sky was blue, the fine architecture dazzled and the sculptures were picked out in the autumn sunshine. David Attenborough was…

What’s The Chance Of That Happening?

I was in Port Sunlight today with my photography class so the students could practise the theory learned over the previous two weeks. Whilst there we noticed another photographer taking shots of a lady beside a beautiful Nissan Figaro car. I went over and chatted to Ruth and she informed me this was a shoot…

This annual school event was absolutely marvellous and a lovely and talented group of children collected their awards then entertained us with singing, dancing and…
