NNSocietyNorman Nicholson Society – An excellent group set up to promote and enjoy the poetry of Norman Nicholson, the last Lakeland Poet, who lived from 1914 to 1987, spending most of his life in Millom, in Cumberland. The NN Society is supporting my Norman Nicholson talk at Higham Hall in Oct 3013. I met Norman Nicholson in 1975 when he visited my A Level Eng Literature class in Whitehaven Grammar, to read and discuss his poems. BWC_logoBritish Wildlife Centre – A great place to visit and get close to and photograph the UK’s wonderful wildlife. On my visit I photographed red squirrels, badgers, otters, red foxes, owls, harvest mice, polecats, weasels, fallow deer …… The list goes on. Situated in Surrey, outside Lingfield, and worth looking at their website.

 

SGHTSouth Georgia Heritage Trust (SGHT) – Charity based in Dundee, working with all who wish to preserve the South Georgia’s natural and historical heritage for future generations – to redress the damage to its environment done in the past, and to preserve the human heritage of the island which so clearly shows the best and worst of humanity. The groundbreaking SGHT Habitat Restoration Project is saving native birds from extinction and increase by millions the numbers of endangered seabirds on South Georgia.
