Wildlife photography - capturing images of wild plants, animals and other organisms - is generally regarded as being one of the more challenging forms of photography. This full day course aims to prove that we can all take decent wildlife shots, and sets out some theory and tips for successful photographs.
Using my portfolios of wildlife images, we analyse the key elements which make a successful wildlife photograph, and look at the different messages we can convey in our wildlife images, for example; recording endangered wildlife, capturing animal behaviour and portraying wildlife in its environment.
Travel Photography
Travel photography is taking images which capture the ‘essence of a place or places’.
This full day course looks at various aspects of Travel photography. Firstly, what is Travel Photography? - we start with a few definitions, then look at the History of Travel Photography focussing on some of the finest travel images from the early C19th to the mid C20th.
We discuss photographic equipment and analyse the many techniques which make a successful travel photograph. In the 2nd half of the course, we look in some detail at my images from over 25 years travelling to 35 countries under the themes of People, Places, Nature, Landscape and Culture.
